September was quite the month for us. We needed to find a solution to the problem of our pets care while we are on vacation at the end of October. Well thanks to our friends and neighbors, Bill and Maryann, Baxter will be right at home with them. They are going to watch him while we are away. Harry the cat will be watched over by a worker at the resort. Thanks to them all!
Our daughter Kristin went to Florida looking for a teaching job
Bonnie, our first born, well she is Bonnie. She is working hard in the Emergency Room at Centra States Hospital doing what she does best, helping and fixing broken people. Her and Charlie got a new puppy and are happy with their lives.
Our next challenge for the month was to deliver a cake for our "semi adopted child" Amber. She spent the summer on the mountain with us and for me has filled the void of not seeing my own daughters, Bonnie and Kristin. Amber has a great talent when it comes to baking and decorating cakes. She is truly a diamond in the rough. I delivered the cake to the fair in New Holland and yes she won the Blue Ribbon, #1!
People say that bad things happen in 3. Well as luck would have it, we had ours. Lets see, first the AC unit stopped working and we had to replace a part. Second, during a windy storm with rain pouring down a tree decided to come visit us through our roof! With in minutes a crew of friends here at the resort came to our rescue.
As you all know, Gail had to have yet another Cardiac Ablation done. She was scheduled for October 4th, at 6:15AM for the procedure. We left the house at 4:45AM to make the 1 plus hour ride to St. Mary's. I tried not to show my concerns but I bet Gail new I was worried. She is pretty good at doing these heart things. I on the other hand am not. She went in and with in 1 hour I was getting updates from the Operating Room. Good and bad news. They found the problem fast but it was in an area of concern. The Electro-Cardiologist needed to make the decision of either stopping and flying her to Philadelphia to finish or to go for it and get it done right now. The Doctor went on and fixed the issue right then and assured me that all was well. After a few tense hours of waiting, the Doctor came out to see me and explain all that had happened. All was well and Gail was fixed once again. No Pacemaker was needed and all systems are good. She will have to stay on meds but all is well. To all that watched over Gail during this, THANK-YOU!
With Gail home and recuperating nicely, we are getting ready for the Christmas in October celebration here at the resort. Gail has our home decorated with lights and wreaths just like it were December. This coming Saturday will be the Christmas dinner for the resort. We all gather, everyone bringing something for dinner and we share a bit of each others meal. It's a great time and we are truly looking forward to going.
In 2 weeks we will be cruising the Caribbean on Oasis of the Seas. We have yet to start packing and I have just now got all our travel documents in order. Bonnie and Charlie will be joining us and we plan on having a great time. I don't know, maybe a new piece of jewelery for Gail? We will see.
Well thats it. Our next posting should be the start of our trip South. We still as of yet do not have a plan. We are living on the edge, day by day. Lets see what the future holds. Good-bye for now my friends.
