What an awesome town Daylesford is! Beautiful pastoral scenery on the way here today… gorgeous little farmlets scattered about. So pretty.  We are really loving Victoria.  We booked into Lake Jubilee caravan park which is a pretty spot right on Jubilee Lake.  Plenty of wildlife - ducks, peacocks, cockatoos and numerous other interesting critters and the lake is just beautiful.  After we settled, we went in to have a look at the town and walked the local shops.  This is a gorgeous town, very picturesque with great energy. Great shops, food houses and galleries. Visited the amazing  botanic garden grounds and climbed a HUGE tower to get a view over the town and a HUGE dose of vertigo! Lots and lots of steps and will have sore bum cheeks tomorrow! In the car again and went out to check out Hepburn Springs, the famous mineral baths, and made an appointment for a mineral bath tomorrow afternoon.  Had a look at The Blowhole which is a supposedly man made hole through the rocks made in the gold rush days to re-direct the waterways.  Quite different and yep, more steps.  We should have great 'buns' and probably would have if it wasn't for the red wine and beer!   Back to the van to light our fire and cook a camp oven stew.  Yum!
Next morning we went for a spectacular walk around the lake early. Would probably be about 2.5-3km.  The reflections off the water were so beautiful and the walk was quiet, serene and peaceful.  Not as cold last night or this morning as I thought it was going to be, but still a bit of chill.  Went into the local Daylesford markets this morning and that was interesting.  Some pretty cool stalls and really interesting people! Blown out by the incredible colours in the trees in the area… such a pretty town… After the markets we headed to a local spring outlet (a bit of local knowledge – we met a guy who told us about this) and filled every water bottle that we could find with the precious water just coming up out of the ground.  So lovely.  We then went to check out Daylesford Lake and this was beautiful.  We went for the leisurely 1mile walk around the lake and had a picturesque outlook from every angle.  The weather was perfect, the sky blue and the reflection on the lake perfect.  From here we went to the Chocolate Mill and had a Vienna Coffee, then back home for lunch before our mineral spa.  Our appointment was at 3:00pm and we were early but that was ok.  The spa house was awesome!  We had our own private bathroom, with beautiful patchouli and rose bath salts.  We had the private spa for hour which was awesome.  We came out feeling extremely clean and smelling wonderful!  Was a really, really lovely experience.  We came out relaxed and headed back to chill for the evening.  Daylesford is up there for our favourite place in Victoria!
