Lucky we don't have far to go today. Only about 100km or so. Weather is a little cloudy but looking good. Was a good drive down to Mallacoota. Very windy and narrow road into the town.  Mallacoota is a lovely little village which usually has about 1000 residents on a good day, but gets a major influx into town during holiday periods. Well this is one of those times!  There are people everywhere!  The population apparently triples during holiday periods (I wish we had known).  The foreshore campground is filled with hundreds of vans and tents and we are truly grateful that we aren't camped there!!  The views are awesome and under different circumstances would be a great place to camp, but way too many people for us!  Our park is quite small in comparison, only has about 10 powered sites and about 10 cabins, great camp kitchen area and a pool. Nowhere near as many people wandering around! Awesome.  We are really happy that we are here and not on the foreshore with the rest of Victoria.  Went for a walk along the water today and it really is beautiful here.  We might have to hire a boat or go on a tour to be able to see all that there is to see here.  Water activities are it…. Boats and fishing….  Weather has come over cloudy this arvo and it is quite cold with the wind blowing.
Nights are quite a bit cooler here, and it is cloudy and cooler this morning.  Walked over to the township and checked out the local market – not too much to offer there.  Had a nice long walk around the foreshore area and the campsites too.  Back to the van and we jumped in the car to have a bit more of a look around.  Drove around the boat harbour then took a lovely long peaceful walk through Crojingolong National Park, a great little walk right around the edge of the lake.  Was really beautiful, and would have been quite spectacular if the sun was shining.  We really enjoyed it though.  Then we drove up to Sandy Point which was a small bbq come fishing spot up in what they call the top lake.  The water system is huge here with a top lake, bottom lake and then the entrance to the ocean.  Everyone has a boat and they are out on the water!   Both of us are feeling the cold today.
Easter Sunday – well it rained last night and was quite cool today.  Still a bit drizzley this morning and pretty cold.  We have track suits, and I even have my ugg boots out!  Very wet day, we spent most of the morning in the van reading in the rain.  In the afternoon we went to the pub to listen to a band for a few hours and that was fun.  We may have had a little bit too much scotch too….
Woke up to beautiful weather this morning!  Sun shining brightly!  Hopped in the car and went to check out some of the local beaches.  Firstly Bastion Point where they all put their boats in… very pretty spot.  Then we checked out a few of the beaches along the coast.  Walked a couple of them.   Very rocky coastline and very beautiful.  So nice to go somewhere here that there aren't 1000's of people!  Back to the van for lunch and a bit of a chill and read then we walked back down to the lake and watched the boat action for a while and had an ice cream.  Really nice warm day today and we had a good one.
