I caught a 5 hour bus from Tulum, West to the World Heritage town of Merida. About halve way through the bus ride i noticed my passport wallet was looking a little thin. Then i remembered giving it to the hostel as a deposit and in all the comotion of leaving, i ran out and right now, it sits behind the reception of a hostel, 5 hours from where I sit.
Today I shall return to Tulum and as fate has decided, take a long overnight bus to Palemque for some more ruins.

The end of a long Journey??
Im coming to the end of a long road. The end is near, i can feel it. I cant see it yet, but i sense its close. Im tossing up a few options right now, but the top one, is to get to Mexico City in the next week or 2, take a  flight to LAX and then, I will fly home to Sydney ending a voyage of 2 years, 8 months and 12 days ... and counting. Its going to be one hell of a culture shock returning to Australia.
In a way, im waiting for this trip to have some kind of grande finale, im delaying my return to Aus until that happens and im beginning to realize that life doesnt have these big dramatic endings. Sometimes things just end. There will be no epic battle, no blaze of glory, there wont be a thousand screaming fans waving me off at the airport. I just sneak onto the plane, sit tight for 17 hours and next thing i know...    WELCOME HOME! Hello Australia. Wow, you look different, i guess 3 years will do that to a country. I dont really know what to expect, but writing it down here is making it even more of a reality, so im going to stop right now and go hangout with my hostel buddies, then take a 5 hour bus to Tulum and a 12 hour bus to Pelenque.
