Rina and I arrived in Copenhagen  on different flights so cousin Helena & I taxied the short distance to the airport to meet Rina who  arrived  after 2am in the morning from Larnaca.

The countryside around here is so different to Finland - patchwork of farms with farmhouses nestled individually amongst them. The highest altitude above sea level in all of Denmark is 173 meters and on the island of Amager, where we are staying, it is all of 7 meters! You can't get much flatter.

Helena and Kell live in an apartment less than 5km  from the Copenhagen airport. On our
first day we caught a bus to Dragør on the southern side of the airport to have a look at an historic area of the town where the houses are maintained in period style, some with thatched roofs. The houses & cobbled streets were so quaint and being an old maritime village had much history and once again so intriguing.

We lunched at a local Restaurant and enjoyed a typical Danish hot dinner which was absolutely huge. The chef  came to check if that is what we wanted off the menu because it was so everydayish for them.

Our conversations are interesting as Helena speaks Danish and Finnish, Kell Danish & English , Rina English & some Finnish and myself English & Finnish. Continual translation by Helen & I and at times with much laughter because we forget which mode we're in.
