Back on the Blue Ridge Highway.  Stopped at Cone Manor House - pictures, crafts and Lake view.  Wonderful scenery on the Blue Ridge parkway.  Changes of vegetation due to height.  Walked to Cascades at Linville Falls.  Went into Asheville town for dinner at Jack of the Woods.  Great Bluegrass music with "sitters in."  

Friday 24 April - had large breakfast at the motel.  Went into Asheville and walked around the town, art deco shops - FW Woolworths turned into a diner/art gallery.  Buskers, coffee at bookshop.  On to "Skinny Dip Falls" until thunder storm and lightning chased us off.  Evening - to Ingles supermarket and Fiddling Pig.  Mum met David from FL and NJ.  Smoky mountain Cloggers and Blue Grass Group.

Saturday 25 - Went to West North Carolina Nature center - saw wolves, bobcat, cougar and Bear playfighting.  Then headed out to Old Fort to "Patriot Days" - cabins, mountain museum, civil war reenactment, lovely warm day, we sat by the creek.  Came back and watched Public TV - Lawrence Welk.
