Where I stayed
The temperature had almost doubled since I started this morning. As soon as I checked into my motel this afternoon I was straight into the swimming pool to cool down. It's now 8:30 and it is still 31C outside. I see that in London ON it is 16C. I don't know which is better.
Well today off into the countryside to chase the Mississippi. Gone are the Pine Trees, hunting lodges, cabins and camper trailers. The countryside now has been extensively cleared to allow for huge farms ringed by deciduous trees just like South Western Ontario.
Because of the rain did not stop until I got to downtown Minneapolis here I had to go to the Vikings Stadium just to see it! It you look at the Parking sign I have a photo of, the cost for parking while there is a Vikings (football) game on if $25 while the Twins (baseball) is only $10
Have gravitated to AmericInn Hotel & Suites which costs a little more than Super 8 or Motel 6 but they have a swimming pool and spa and much more comfortable/cleaner rooms.
After cooling off in the pool, I headed off to the Mall of America. The mall is big with the stores in an outer circle and four levels leaving space for kiddie rides in the middle which included a roller coaster. I had a great meal in a barbecue restaurant comprising of a burger with brisket added to the burger meat, topped with pulled pork and two thick slices of jalapeno bacon with chip - Yum!
Wonder how hot it will get tomorrow?
