Where I stayed
Sedona was a tourist trap of the first degree. You could have taken it and placed it in any of the numerous tourist towns on the south California coast. It was sad and I had absolutely not interest in it. I followed the trout outline and visited Red Rock Canyon State Park which was a dismal experience that cost me $10 except for I saw a little exhibit on Indian Cliff Dwellers
All you could do was take pictures of the outside of the dwelling. One interesting thing was that there was a volunteer sitting on a bench trying to start a conversation with people passing by. It was quite funny because he would ask where you came from and say that's nice then launch into his monograph about the cliff dwelling once he had finished he stopped talking....then the next person came along...I think you get it :)
The temperature out in the desert had increased from 20C to 39C at one point and then down to 37C when it held. It was a tad hot!
The next stop was a town called Jerome which bills itself as the highest town in north America. Along the way at Cottonwood I saw a TexMex Church and as it had the same name as out Stratford Church (Immaculate Conception) decided to explore it. You can see the photo's.
Jerome as it turns out is built on the side of a mountain 3/4 of the way up! I have been using my GPS to give me an idea of the road up ahead (bends, hairpins etc) and the was up to Jerome looked like someones intestines
For supper I went to a Mexican restaurant that I visited last year and had a wonderful Mexican meal. This time I ordered their Ribs and it did not disappoint. Melt in your mouth meat that just fell off the bones. I only had to pick up the last rib to get all the meat off it.
Tomorrow I start heading for home with only one stop left: Santa Fe witch will take me a full day to reach. I am looking forward to this as last year all the photo's I took indoors did not come out and I was so disappointed. Time to make up.
