A fun but tiring day. I did all that I planned except I just rode into Bryce Canyon and turned around because it was too late
. I have lots of time yet and I would want to spend at least 1/2 day exploring Bryce. I arrived at Cedar City around 8pm exhausted but feeling very good. Once I dumped my clothes I went and got fed. Once I complete this blog I can collapse on the bed and watch TV. What high aspirations I have.
There are a lot of photo's but it is a log of the days journey which included seeing a bunch of cows on the roadside eating grass (no fence). I'd seen chickens in Newfoundland feeding at the side of the road never cows. Can you imagine reporting to the police: 'yes officer, the cow jumped out in from of me and hit my bike' :(
Well, I blew it today..I planned on riding from Moab to Cedar City via the Colorado Gorge, The Capital Reef National Park, Highway 12 scenic route through the Dixie Forest, and then visit Bryce Canyon National Park and get to Cedar City around supper time. The big mistake was that I thought it was 450 kms - it was 650 kms. I also did not take into account the varied terrains I would pass through. The sheer number of stops to take photo's and the bikers I'd meet and have long conversations with. Sigh...did I forget to tell you about the hilly twisty roads I traveled on. I'm glad I was not riding the old V-Star Cruiser I had last year, if I was, I'd have never made it around some of the corners I took :) There was a sign I which I wish I had photographed it: 'Severe decline, tight corners for the next 10 miles' you should have seen my grin! Love my bike!
