Sightseeing day today in Salt Lake City. Started out just before 7:30am and walked to the Cathedral of the Medellin for the 8am Mass. My GPS said it would take me 35 mins to walk there and I just made it. The Mass was nice but could not take any photo's as they turned the lights down too low to take any. So, had breakfast and took the 10 minute walk over to the Mormon Temple Square. I could not believe how clean the streets of downown SLC were. They had little sweeper vehicles sweeping the sidewalks at 8am!! Toronto should be ashamed.

While I was at the Square I visited both of the visitor centres which had their own exhibits and listened to an organ recital in the Tabernacle, wandered through their History Museum and Art Gallery and it made for a very pleasant time. At the organ recital, the organist mumbled on the microphone and I could not understand a word he was saying, then he came away from the mice and I could hear him clearly even with his back to us. He even dropped three pins into a bowl and you could hear them hit!! The acoustics were that good. I was stopped on several occasions by young lady ambassadors who wanted to let me know about the "Book of Mormon". Nice chatting with them even though they had their own agenda which I could turn around and talk about what I wanted to talk to them about. There were 50% American girls, with a Japanese, Chinese, Korean
and Dutch. Interesting to here about how they came to come and volunteer and what it was like being a Christian in the two Communist countries.

Tonight I'll be going back to the Tabernacle to hear the choir practice for next Sundays program.
That's after resting my poor feet (AKA a nap)

Well when and heard the Tabernacle choir at the Tabernacle, once you got past the boring part of corrections they sang each hymn in it's entirety and it was wonderful. I am so glad I went. Wonder if it will make a difference at my first choir practice of the season in October? One can only hope.

And tomorrow off to Moab to explore Canyon land.
