These were my first impressions of Antigua: cars, lots and lots of cars and bars lots and lots of bars. I don´t mean the cerveza type of bars I mean the window and door type of bars. They are everywhere. Every window, every door, beautiful wood carved, plain old doors all covered in bars. At least they are pretty bars. My second impressions were beautiful churches in various phases of destruction due to the 1976 earthquake or, perhaps, from the days of Spanish conquistadors. Also, my favorite part of my two day visit to Antigua is the brilliant fountain in the central park where women are proudly holding their breasts up with flowing water from their nipples.
Today I leave Antigue so it may be a bit before I contact anyone and add any pictures. I´m heading to a town called Nebaj and haven chosen a dirt road, back road route. Oh, and I will have to add an entry about the fiery volcano I hiked last night where I could have touched the lava if I was just crazy enough.
Lastly and most importantly..HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MI HERMANO (brother) BILL. YOU´RE NOW IN MY DECADE LITTLE BROTHER. ENJOY IT!!!!
