One of my favorite pictures that I didnīt take was of Elena.  Elena is the 6 year old daughter of the family I stayed with for 1.5 days.  She immediately took to me, sitting up close and rattling off how to use the remote.  She was the one reason I was sad to go.  One day I was walking past her house and that of her cousins and she comes running up to me beaming and gives me a huge hug.  The next day she runs past me yelling "Hola, Buenos Dias" and clearly on a mission.  About 10 minutes later I walk past her returning home and she has a piece of fruit that she is eating in one hand, with dripping juice down her chin, and a huge knife in the other.  Elena walks pass me and waves with another fabulous smile.  One that I will have to keep in my head.

Hello, Genemitten!!!
I don't know how else to communicate with you except these public messages, so everyone will just have to see how we talk... First of all, HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!! I thought about you as I was in the Grand Canyon (freezing my ass off), hoping you were in a warm place eating food that is delicious and doesn't make you throw up. Secondly, what is this rating thing you keep saying? How do I do it? Thirdly, I LOVE all of the wonderful, funny, detailed information you write. I really get a sense of how you are and what your travels are like. Yay, Genemitten! I miss you! xoxoxoxo
