Trip Start May 31, 2006
20Trip End ??? ??, 2006
So we had the day off in Houston (by day off I mean we only had to drive 5 hours). I talked to Haley on the phone and she offered to call her mom and have her barbecue something and bring it to our hotel. As much as I believed her, I turned it down. She and Josh are alone on DMB now, which I'm sure is a bit tough. Three people is a good minimum because if one person doesn't want to hang out, the other may. Of course we don't really have time to hang out much. I did swim at the hotel in Houston though.
Yesterday we had the show in Houston which has the potential to fry us alive. Thankfully it was just an average hot and sweaty day. We also had volunteers which take the pressure off of us greatly. As I've written before, I see a lot of different bands and people from tent city in catering. At dinner I went outside of the tent to eat because there was room at a table outside. I went back to the line to get some salad and came back to find four guys sitting at my table. I started talking to them and they told me they're in Helmet. Helmet is one of those bands that pretty much kicks ass every day. They're much heavier than most of the bands on the tour and I'm really into their set (except for the fact that I have to scream louder to talk to people if we're too close to the stage). They're also one of the bands on my list to check out for some time (others on that list include Glassjaw and Mogwai). So it was cool to talk to them even for five minutes.
We're heading out to the Dallas show in a few minutes - Gotta run.
