Tuesdays show in Detroit went well. Brande who is in charge of Lokahi Outreach, the group I work for, came up to the show and she'll be with us for this week. We're looking at switching the Uplander out for an Excursion or Expedition since they have relatively similar gas mileage, but more space. We'd be using hybrids if they made large enough vehicles, but they don't.

After the show in Detroit Brande, Josh, and I were hungry so we set out for some crappy food. After an hour of debating and resisting the 24 hour McDonalds on principle, we finally found the Taco Bell Brande remembered from the U2 Tour. Of course had we taken a left out of the hotel we'd have been there in 5 minutes, but instead we took a right and drove for an hour. We woke up early Wed. morning and I drove four hours to Columbus for the show last night. We got in and set up without checking into the hotel Columbus - 1 - Banner

. Haley and I got lunch and stopped at Best Buy (new Head Automatica). Not long after getting back, the weather turned bad and we lowered the tent as it started blowing away a bit. We had seven volunteers and the weather only got worse as they came in. This kills signatures and donations because people are soaking wet and pages of ONE Declarations are too. Dave Matthews Band goes on at 8:30 and Josh told the volunteers we'd be leaving. There was a possibility of hail coming down and that would not be good. Josh, Haley, and I had the whole tent loaded out by 9:30 and grabbed a beer backstage before we headed back to what turned out to be a 1960's hotel.

Today we got up and I found out about Zarqawi when I went down to the lobby. It's good for propaganda on both sides, but I don't know that his death will really have a long lasting effect on al Qaeda in Iraq. I was glad to see Nick Berg's dad call for restorative justice on television. That's a tough stance to take with a man who had his son beheaded.
After we left the hotel and got breakfast/lunch, we drove through Ohio and a sliver of West Virginia to get to Pittsburgh. We've got two shows here and by Monday I should know what tour I'll be on for the summer. I have different preferences for different reasons, but things should be great regardless of where I go.
