I woke up this morning around 9:30 and my bed was shaking. I thought someone was messing with me, but then I realized they'd have to be shaking the Nunnery. I decided to wait for the after shocks, but sleep was too comfortable and I only experienced probably thirty seconds of the earthquake. It was a 7.2 and apparently not as strong as the one that hit last year in August.

I also forgot to mention the Redcliffe Cafe. Last week Chris, Emily, and I went over to have a few bottles of wine. We sat in the "Poet's Corner". This was named after Sean Astin read poetry from this area as did John Rhys Davies. When filming of Lord of the Rings was happening the cast and crew frequented the Redcliffe and Muzza, the chef, is still working there. He said that when Liv Tyler walked into the 4 star Te Anau Hotels and Villas (owned by the same guy as the Luxmore Hotel that I work at) she refused to stay and then had to be flown back to Queenstown after every day of shooting. They have a shirt signed by a few of the guys including Sir Ian McKellan. Apparently they also got Sean Astin so drunk that he missed all of his connecting flights to another location they were shooting at.
And now I'm off ot work.

sounds nice
I've wanted to go NZ since I was a kid growing up in the UK. These blogs have convinced me to do it, and Te Anau is on the top of my list of places to visit. I would like to talk to some fellow sailors, as the missus and I plan to sail there. The Poets' Corner sounds fun, as the do the several bottles of wine.
