We left Livingstone, Zambia to continue the safari of Botswana. I said goodbye to 8 travel mates and welcomed 8 new ones.
We crossed the Kazungula ferry into Botswana - uneventful border crossing - and headed to Francistown via Kasane (pronounced Ka-saa-neeee). The roads were amazing to our 1st campsite ... Tar all the way with no bumps! The openess of the vehicle was a bit disconcerting and bloody cold! Cold conditions are easily forgotten when Giraffes, Elephants, Steenbok, and Kudu were spotted en route to the camp. No kidding that these animals are on the side of the road as you pass by. The campsite is Elephant Sands and quite charming with hot salt showers and flushing toilets. My guides and tour leader are very efficient and knowledgeable ... should be a great 14 days!
