Hello everyone, I know that I have not written for 2 weeks, but I have been in a tour group and there has been no access to internet (or not enough time) ... either we have been in very remote areas or there has been an Islamic holiday (3 days marking Mohammed's birthday) where everything has been closed. So here starts the catching up ...

Checked out of the Hotel Bellerive today. On to the joining hotel - Hotel Rio - for the Intrepid tour. It is right in the heart of the medina - marketplace - so it would be on the shabbier side of town. The interior is fairly comfortable and clean & there is internet access in the lobby - bonus!

My roommate is Sara Ross who lives in Dallas; grew up in Pennsylvania; and was born in San Francisco. Both she and her parents (Bob & Carol) are on the tour and they are quite friendly. We spent the afternoon walking around the medina & surrounding area getting acquainted.

18:00 - Group meeting where we met our group leader, Summer Davis, from California and the rest of the group. There are 2 friends from Australia that live in London - Clare & Georgie; a newly married Aussie couple on their honeymoon (spent 4 days in Paris & will spend a week after this tour in the Maldives) - Sabrina & Michael; another Aussie who is a policewoman travelling on a round-the-world ticket - Mel; and another American, a school teacher (currently Vice Principal) - Stephanie.

Looking forward to knowing them over the next 2 weeks ...
