Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Trevor and I went to the country of Australia. We went to Australia to get away from the cold horrible winter in Wisconsin. We got on a plane from Milwaukee to Newcastle Australia on March 1, 2012, at 6:55 P.M we arrived and it was 64 degrees F and 94% humidity. Then we went straight to the Quality Hotel on the beach. When we checked in  the person at the front desk was speaking to us in English with an Australian accent and said good day mate. After we checked in we went and got something to eat at the restaurant down stairs in the hotel. When we looked at the menu they had a lot of different kinds of foods like barbecues, European, Asian and American foods. One of the delicacies was fish in chips wrapped in newspaper. The time difference from Plymouth, WI to Newcastle Australia was 17 hours. When we got done eating we went to our rooms and went straight to bed. In the morning we went down stairs for breakfast and a lot of people were eating fish in chips so we tried it. It was pretty good. After we got done eating we went and found  a taxi and told them to take us to the nearest beach. In 20 minutes we arrived at the Newcastle beach. When we got to the beach we went swimming and played volleyball with some locals. We left the beach at 6:00 P.M. and went to the hotel and took a shower and went to bed looking forward for tomorrow. The next day we went and looked at some wildlife. We went on a tour of this zoo and we saw a Tasmanian devil, koala bear,  emu, duck billed platypus and a kangaroo. After that we watched a netball game. Netball is like basketball but you don't dribble. We also watched a rugby and soccer games. When we got done with that we went to the hotel and got something to eat. The next day we were walking on the beach and we saw a horse the was sinking in quicksand. So we ran over there and started to dig the horse free. After a while the horse got out and the owner was happy. The owner was trying to give us an award but we told her no it was a act of selfless concern for others. One interesting fact was people chase lizards for fun. When we got home it was really cold and dreary.
