So this will be a short journal entry. Our journey today was a long one…leaving behind the scenic Teddy Roosevelt NP for northern Montana. We had no real stop in mind, we just decided to get as much driving done in one day before we got into Glacier National Park.
The drive took about 7 hours to get to the town of Havre (pronounced Hov-ra), population 10,000. It's an odd place…full of freight trains and pickup trucks, casino’s and fast food restaurants. We selected a Budget Inn….which at 52 dollars a night was dirt cheap. It was/is also awful. Sure it has wireless, but the place smells of smoke and everything is old, ripped, and tattered.
At least the journey here was nice! Montana is comprised of endless roads and open land stretching for as far as the eye can see. At one point we saw the Rocky Mountains…tomorrow, we’ll cross into them!
Check out the pictures to see the story of our journey into Montana. While beautiful, today was a pretty slow day in terms of exciting things!
Glacier National is the highlight of our trip, but definitely will not have internet. I’ll write again from Washington State!
