I said goodbye to John and Sydney and hopped, well ran, struggling
with my massive rucksack and board bag, yes I am still lugging around a
snowboard in the 40 degree heat, people think I have landed in the
wrong country, but anyways, I got on a train to Swansea, in Newcastle
about two hours north of Sydney, to see my old pals that I worked with
in PGL in France, Kane, Cheyne, PB & Motters!!! Then even more
ex-pglers came to stay Andy, Will & Ellie! It was a full house in
Kane's and we had a great time!
My first night there myself and Kane cycled over to a party in the
'burbs'! where I met his brother Troy and a guy with a d.i.y home cut
mullet! I couldn't stop staring, it was like a car wreck, you just
gotta look! After a bottle of JD and too many rounds of charades we
cycled back and I finally had a good nights sleep in a real bed in a
real home, it was lush!
The next day it was PB's birthday so we got a load, and I mean a few
cows worth of meat, nothing else, no salad, just meat and bread and
headed down to the lake and had a wicked BBQ. It then started to rain
so we headed back to the garage for lots of beers, ice cream birthday
cake and awesome drinking games. I haven't laughed so much in a very
long time. Lots of silly games and dressing up and scaring Cheyne's
Maltese girlfriend with my manly burps! I'm such a lady!
The next day it was fishing in the lake followed by another massive
meat fueled BBQ at Cheyne's house, but this time I made some veggie
kebabs, Cheyne said I was a disgrace to this great BBQ nation and he
was disgusted at the offending items on the BBQ! Well, at least I
didn't get food poising like PB did from eating raw chicken and washing his mouth out with beer! Silly boy!
The rest of the week was spent in the reclining leather armchair with
the remote in my hand watching lots of travel programmes about South
America and New York and basically taking it easy and enjoying not
being on the road! But I am all geared up now for my next trip! My next
update will be coming to you live from NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!
