SKIPPY SKIPPY THE BUSY KANGAROO

Had my Christmas Milonga this week, basically a social dance where everybody dances tango all night. I got asked up to dance by the most amazing dancer I had ever seen! Turns out he is the National Ballroom Champion of New Zealand! Not Bad eh? It was amazing dancing with him, I felt like a princess and wished I had a dress on and tiara not trousers and hoop earrings, knacker style! Ha!! I'm a well classy bird me! After that it was on to the Irish bar for some good old knacker dancing Irish style, jumping up and down, staggering round the place, spilling drinks, not mine, other peoples of course!

Then myself, Gavin and Niall headed off on our final weekend road trip in New Zealand! How very emotional! We piled in the car Saturday afternoon, we had to leave late cause Gavin was working, he calls watching the football and interviewing players working! It's a hard knock life eh!? We then headed towards the Coromandel! It was only suppose to take a few hours to get there but between my driving, Niall's navigating and Gavin's photo stops it took five hours or so!!!!!!!! But, hey you know the saying, getting there is half the fun!

The next morning we got up at sunrise and drove, on an empty fuel light, again, to Hot Water Beach! This place is well cool. The Earth's crust is so think here that the sand is so hot that if you dig a pool about a foot or two deep the water is boiling hot and you can lie in it and have your own hot water spa! It is amazing. The steam was rising up out of the sand as we lay in the bubbling water watching the waves crash on to the rocks in front of us as the sun crept up in to the sky. It was great as the tide started to come in cause the waves would crash ashore and wash over us cooling us down and causing the boys to squeal like little girls as the cold water hit their balls! Funny stuff!

We then hit the road and ended up in Mount Maunganui which is this really cool surf, skate student summer beach hang out. So we had some lunch here and played on the beach for a bit before heading to Rotorua. When we got here the boys went to a wildlife park to see some lion cubs that you can touch and have your photo taken with, too cruel for me so I slept in the car! Then we went to the Zorb! I got in this giant sized hamster plastic ball. They filled the ball with water and then they pushed me down this hill! Crazy! I felt like I was in a washing machine and it was great! I couldn't stop laughing! Lots of silly childish fun! How thinks of these things. I recommended anybody to get into there washing machine and give it a go, just make sure it is on a cool wash!!

After that we headed back to the hostel but not before we had one final pit stop picnic at Huntly Power station, this was really cool and symbolic for me cause it was also the first pit stop picnic I had all the way back in March when I first started traveling! Ahhh!

The next day was my final day in New Zealand and I was excited to be leaving. I was all packed and ready to go. The day was spent saying goodbye to people, but that's cool, goodbyes don't bother me, you get use to it when you travel, you know that you will never see them again but the time you had together was good so no tears or emotions are needed. Cold? How is that cold? Some people here think I am a cold person! I call it being emotionally in control!

Then it was off to Melbourne Australia, another country to add to my list. The flight was cool as there was an amazing amount of movies showing that I wanted to see, so I went for Control, the new movie about Ian Curtis and Joy Division, a great film, while Gavin went for Scent of a Women, a classic, Al Pacino as his best and the Tango scene is great!

So our first day in Melbourne went like this, found hostel, checked in, Gavin slept, I went exploring. All the women as so pretty and skinny so I found a gym! I spent my time indoors by the air conditioning and my time outdoors swatting the flies away! There are so many of them, all over your face all the time, it is disgusting and annoying and I can't stand them! We then went to the night market, which was huge!!!! Stalls and stalls and rows and rows of food, fruit, veg, clothes, souvenirs, drinks, cloth, everything you could possibly want set to a back drop of live music! It was great! But then something happened! The foreign culture and lure of a new country got hold of me, or maybe it was the heat or Gavin's enthusiasm but I somehow ended up with a Kangaroo Burger in my hand and then it ended up in my mouth. I am the worst vegan ever! Especially cause I then tried Gavin's Crocodile Burger. They were good! Too Good! I feel so guilty, yet so satisfied!! Ah the things we do when we are away from home!
