I WANT IT ALL AND I WANT IT NOW
What is the world coming too? Global Warming has a lot to answer for I tell you!! (Which fits in nicely for me to say GO AL GORE for winning the Nobel Peace Prize)) It's crazy weather here! We have been having nothing be torrential rain down in the valley and blizzards up on the mountain!! The mountain was shut for two days cause we had so much snow! I have been waiting all season for snow and then I all comes at once in the last week! But better late than never I say! (Well, I never say that, other people say that, I say I WANT IT NOW!!!)
So with a few days off myself and my friend Claire from St. Louis Missouri went and did some girlie stuff, well we drank coffee and had vegan sushi, it's just as horrible as the regular stuff!! We also planned our travelling adventure and got excited about finally leaving Wanaka. Oh, and, I also went and weighed myself and found out I lost 21 pounds!!! Not of money, of fat from my ass!! Go the Vegan Diet, I mean "lifestyle choice"!!!
Finally the last day of season came, and what a way to end! It was a bluebird day, blue skies and sunshine and the place was blanketed in fresh untouched white fluffy powder!! I spent the morning getting pumped watching snowboard DVDs then I strapped on my board and hit the slopes and didn't stop grinning from the moment I got on the chairlift till the moment they shut them off! It was an epic and amazing way to end my season in New Zealand.
That night everybody was in great high spirits, and beers and wines, at the end of season staff party, where lots of goodbyes and future plans were shared.
The next few days were a blur of packing and re-packing, trying to fit everything in and booking rental cars and camper vans and checking out the weather and driving conditions as well as the best pubs, clubs and things to do on the road out of Wanaka. I was getting really excited about my road trip with Claire. Even though I had been to a lot of the places that we are planning on going to it is kind of all new to me as this time I will have someone to share them and enjoy them with! I can't wait to see what trouble, carnage, fun, police encounters we get ourselves into, gosh, I hope Claire knows what travelling with me will entail!!
