YOU GOTTA FIGHT, FOR YOUR RIGHT, TO PARTY
Our housemate Ben went away home for the weekend and left me and Sanka unsupervised! Big Mistake, Huge!! So Thursday was spent shopping for party stuff and getting our bodies into un-natural poses in yoga! Finally Friday arrived and after rushing home from work me and Sanka got to work cooking and making all the food for the party. We made a huge range of potato salad, egg salads and pasta salads, it was carb overload! We then made sangria using 9lts of wine and lots of alcohol absorbing fruit, which we proceeded to drink, whilst waiting for the guests. After tarting ourselves up Blair came round and got the barbie going and we turned the tunes up and got the party started!
It was an awesome party, about 30 people came and got a good feed, had a barbie on the deck and got very drunk and danced very silly like in the lounge. I even thought it was a very good idea to slide down the banisters! It wasn't! I didn't land very gracefully, in fact a landed with a thump on my arse and still have the bruise for my efforts! But as Bridget Jones as I am I jumped up and pretended I meant to do it! Yeah Right!!! The party ended about 4 am and the next morning there was just bodies scattered about the floors and beds and lots of moans and groans could be heard from a lot of hungover people! Awesome result, amazing party. We really kicked the season off in style!
So after a cooked breakfast and lots of coffee we all settled down for the day in front of the DVD player and chilled out, well until I had to go work. I have decided that work is not for me, ever, and I'm trying to find a way of making money without having to get a job! Any ideas?
The rest of the weekend was a haze of work, DVDs, more party and some home cooking of some special cookies! People over here are crazy for hash cookies and weed cakes and there is a bake up at least once a week! So I tried some for the first time ever. I was expecting to be experienced, to turn on, tune in and drop out, to have my mind awoken but all that happened was I turned on a DVD, tried to tune in but instead dropped off and passed out! I don't get the whole attraction of getting stoned! But hey, you live and learn!
So Monday night came, and me and Sanka finally had the house to ourselves and we just cooked dinner, watched a DVD and drank a bottle of wine. Tuesday it was yoga, which is getting harder, and I'm not getting any more flexible, yet! Then Nix popped round with a couple bottles of wine, well we had to let him in, it would have been rude not too, so we polished them off and then started Wednesday with heavy heads.
But the end of the week was so lovely. Eight of us went to a really posh restaurant in town. Because there are no people in town yet the businesses are doing lots of promotions to get bum on seats so this place is offering two for one on all meals. So the eight of us marched in, with our own bottles of cheap plonk and had three courses each, me, Mushroom and Brie Soup, 300g Steak and Chocolate Mud Pie to finish, ummm, I was stuffed, we all were! And we all only had to pay $26 each, that's only 14 euro!!! Crazy man! After wards it was over to the pub to watch the rugby and see Blair and Nix and then a bloated and stuffed Mel and Sanka waddled home, vowing to start our diets tomorrow! Well, we will see!
