Hi Everyone, David here.
So - here's what happened:
1. Our Computer started crashing. Blue Screen of Death it's called (BSOD): You're happily working away and then, for no reason at all, a horrible blue screen appears for the briefest moments. The computer resets and you lose all your hard work.
2. Luckily, clever Microsoft Windows can detect when this horribleness has happened and it prepares a lovely report. You can let it send the report to the Head Honchos back at Microsoft central. Hoorah!
3. Microsoft very thoughtfully told us how to fix our computer, and stop those nasty BSOD.
4. I should have known better. I followed their advice. Now our computer is completely buggered.
That's what happened. And it happened in Christchurch NZ, just as Lois was about to post all the Australia blogs.
However, we did get a very teeny weeny computer from Hong Kong when we were there. We have been using that from when the big computer broke. Lois has been beavering away with blogs from Christchurch. As soon as we get the big computer back and working we'll be able to post the remainder of Australia. Believe me it's worth the wait. We did some cool stuff, honest. We went to Brisbane and I met an old work colleague by chance. We went to Sydney and we clambered over the Harbour Bridge. We went somewhere else and there was this big sandbank, we drove all over it in a futuristic 4x4 lorry/bus thing.
Unfortunatly, our teeny weeny computer is indeed very teeny weeny. The keyboard is half the size of a slice of toast, but a bit tastier. Lois' little fingers are finding it hard to type words particularly quickly. Well, she can type quickly, but it comes out like this: Tdoay we wnet to the zgo amd it wss qeuit guod, tje bset but wis alclutay hloidng a fulffy aminal of smoe srot.
But, she's trying her best and normal service should be resumed quite soon.
Anyway, I'm going to put some map pins in where we've been in Australia. And then we can fill those in later, as soon as stupid computer technicians stop talking rubbish about needing a new hard drive/motherboard/computer. There's nothing wrong with any of those, it simply needs a proper kick up the bum. (That's geek talk for a re-install of windows).
We'll pick up again from Christchurch in the meantime. Stay tuned.
David.
