Today we had a meeting at the ministry of Education for the Sichuan Province. It was very interesting. We had a lecture on the reforms that are going on here in the Sichuan Province. Many of the reforms are similar to ours in the U,S, They also talked about the changes with English as a Foreign language. Years ago a teacher was told to teach English without being qualified or even able to speak much English. China does like having teachers from English speaking Countries especially if they are willing to work in the rural areas.
Then we were told about the new books available and new resources.
After the ministry we had lunch. We were in an upscale restaurant and the food was amazing. We had a pot of hot spicy noodles. They forgot to give the other table this. Dr. Wong was upset. At our table we had a young woman who is one of Dr. Wang's friends daughter. She is our guide for today The meeting

 . She showed us how to pick up noodles with chopsticks.
After lunch we went to Du Fu home. He was a famous poet during the Tang Dynasty. He is considered the \greatest Chinese poet. He lived 712-770. This area is beautiful and very peaceful. We could see how he was able to write poetry in this place.
We decided not to have a big dinner tonight. A few of us decided to go out and get Pizza Hut. The pizza was good but in here you could get lots of things from Escargot to Spaghetti. It took out waitress a while to understand us. She finally got it and the order was correct. We gave here 30 Yuan as a tip. At first she would not take. Once see realized she was very happy.
After the meal I came back to use skype to call my wife and some of the others took along walk and got lost. It took them two hours to find the hotel.
Tomorrow is a University visit
