Our first flight took us Toronto to JFK airport in New York.
As is our tradition, we left a zillion things to the last minute and almost missed our flight.
But we squeezed on, got our seats and got to NY with no trouble.
In NY, 80% of all flights were cancelled due to bad weather, even though it did not look bad at all.
The plane was delayed by one hour, and we got 5 instead of 4 hours to chill and watch the football games at the airport.
We borded and were schedueld to leave at 11 pm, but as we left the gate, the plane was going back and forth about 10 meters. The pilot annouced that the tug that was trying to pull us away from the gate, could get up the slippery ramp and was needed to be replaced by a bigger one What we left in Toronto
What we left in Toronto
. We have never seen angled ramps at airports, but surely the pilt knew better than we. The new bigger tug, did not have proper chains, so we waited another 30 minutes while the grounds went and got the chains. We started wondering if it was the same grounds crew that was watching the game with us. I suspect our eventual departure conincided with the end of the second game.
We left the airport over 2 hours late, and the pilot announced we were scheduled to arrive in Buenos Aires at 4 pm. Four PM!?!?! our flight to Ushuaia left a different airport in BA at 4 pm. We originally had 4 hours between flights, but now because of delays we would have no time, and miss out flight???
Great start to this vacation! :(
