Took the train to Hue. This town is kinda sucky. Less mayhem than Hanoi. I met a Belgin dude as I was getting off the train so we shared a room ($2US each). Yesterday we wandered around n shit, but today our mission started at 9am and 2 motorbikes.
I thought our destination was 20k's away, but after holding the throttle wide open for about 110k's overtaking everyone at 80km/h my Belgin friend told me the speed limit is only 40km/h for shitty little bikes like ours. We explored some cool little tunnels at the Demilitarized Zone. I got a bit claustraphobic at the start, but I pulled my shit together and pushed on. The journey home was painfull from more sunburn and sore arse from crap seat on bike. Again we sped all the way back to our hostel. Mark (Belgin dude) said I cop was trying to wave us down for speeding, but I didn't see him, Mark pretended not to see him. The cop didn't have a bike so what chance did he think he had?
The traffic is a bit stupid. Trucks and buses overtake around corners and you have to get out of their way or get squashed like bug. A fun day, but too far to ride on such shitty bike. Tomorrow I think I'll head south some more on the bus or train. More thumbnails ...
