Dreams
Saturday night and Sunday early morning I had dreams of going to school.
In my dream I heard Mr Daas calling to the boys to wake up and I rolled over to see my watch and it read 5:55. The boys were grumbling as many do after staying up late in expectation of having no school today. I could see through the morning fog that the kitchen windows were open and I could here Nordis and Bagwhattee talking I assumed about having to be back to work early again. Then moments later I heard the familiar knock on my door and a voice asking, "tea"? And then the door opening up and the dark skinned face with bright white teeth repeating, "tea"., Nordis bringing me tea. Me taking a slow sip from the hot tea, giving him the thumbs up followed by "dahn ya bahd (thank you). In my dream just as in reality, he chuckles, waves his hand in recognition turns and leaves
After my bracing shower where now I am wide awake and alert, I see myself dressing for school. I grab my lock and key step out into the sunshine and already beginning heat of the day and lock my door. I walk my tea glass over to Nordis and Bagwhattee in the kitchen. While repeating "No" several times to breakfast, I walk out of the kitchen hearing Nordis continue to repeat the question "breakfast", to which he knows the answer to already. The guard lets me out the gate and off to school I go.
I saw myself walking down the dusty streets with trucks stirring up clouds of dry powdered dirt from the week without rain. I was covering my face to avoid breathing in the loose dirt or worse getting it in my eyes and being temporarily blinded. In my dream I saw the street shops pushing the heavy metal garage-like doors up to air out and open their business. Several days of being shut tight and locked was not able to keep out the dust but the shopkeepers and their patrons were happy they were open again, despite some extra dusting that is needed. That's all in my dream just as it usually occurs in reality.
But are dreams and reality the same? Not today - today the curfew has been lifted but the strike still endures. I can leave the hostel premises but can I get into school?
I am going to walk to school and hope that I can get in and do some work because as nice as lounging and reading and writing can be, it still gets old after awhile.
* * If you're reading this on Sunday morning, I got in to do work despite school being closed and strike still on...but I don't know how long they will let me continue coming in.

Yummy
. I on the other hand jump in my cold shower and shiver for a few moments. Then stick my head under the cold water, shampoo in hand and scrub out the night's sweat, and insects small enough to slip though my mosquito net. Sunday morning
Why, yes! I'm reading your post this a.m. - Sunday. So glad that you were able to get out-and-about.
But I have a bone to pick with this strike/curfew deal. Apparently, those responsible aren't aware that there's a travel blog that suffers when the blogger can't get to a computer. In turn, the bloggees can't be informed about his goings-on. Of all the nerve! Why, if I had half a mind...
