I was wrong

It took bloody ages to cover what seemed to me to be quite a short distance, and I didn't get into Szeged until 9. This might not have been so bad, had it not been for a very silly mistake. I knew of one place where I could get a bed for the night, a student halls let out as a hostel during the summer months. Searching on the map in the train station, I managed to confuse Eotvos Street (where the hostel was located) with Eotvos Gymnasium, waaay off in the north of the town. After walking for a good hour and getting slightly lost trying to find the place for another quarter, I eventually arrived to find it very, very closed. In desperation, I found a security guard in another building close by, and eventually managed to clear up my mistake. Who says you need to speak the same language to communicate?? He pointed out on my map where I should have gone, and back into town I went. Irritatingly, the place I wanted was no more than 20 minutes walk from station. It took me two hours to get there, carrying my stupid bag all the while. Even worse, I had actually walked within 10 feet of the place on my initial march through town.

So I saw nothing of Szeged that night, and after all that decided I needed a bit of a lie in the next morning, so saw nothing before jumping on the train. Well, I suppose there was one feature I randomly walked past in my lost moments - the Pick salami factory. Woo, indeed.
