One of the main pastimes here is shopping and the malls were incredible. There were dozens of good ones and dozens more, each of which were the best we'd seen anywhere in the world. The really nice thing was that everywhere seemed to be at about 1/3 capacity, there were enough people to make it feel lively, but nothing was ever busy.
We spent a couple of days wandering around the shops and developing a passion for gourmet ice cream, some time seeing the colonial sights and museum and a highly cultured day at Universal Studios Singapore.
We're enjoying the Asian food very much and rigorously avoid ordering 'Western food' wherever we've been, but it was a joy to eat European food in Singapore and drink wine instead of beer for the first time on the trip! Thanks very much to our friend Chris who very kindly took us out to a superb French restaurant where they kept a table a table for him at all times just in case he came in!
