Courtesy of the Interislander Ferry (Picton to Wellington route) we dined today at Brancott Montana Estate Winery. But best of all, it included a winery tour and tasting, but there were only four on the tour. It was a very intimate tour where Yasmin and Mckayla had a great view of all the cuve and the tanks and the barrels and the wine. Deb and Gav had a great view of the wine.
From the winery, we headed over to Nelson, where we stopped in at the Regional Museum, to look at all the things that made Nelson the great place it is today (including the shop that was cut in two in order to resolve a dispute over ownership).
It was so hot, that we decided to check in to the hotel parking lot, but we didn't like the cut of their jib, so we just had ice cream there and went to the one down the road at Richmond, where they had the coldest and deepest swimming pool that we've ever been to. It was so deep and so cold that the kids refused to get it at all.
After the briefest of swims, we headed back into town for dinner at the Stingray Cafe and Bar, where Deb and Gav enjoyed steamed mussels and fish on seasonal vegetables while Mckayla enjoyed Hawaiian pizza and Yasmin enjoyed pretty much nothing at all. At least the vibe of the place couldn't be any better. It is quite the little action place.
