The Sabbath has to start slowly and with reverence. Today was no exception. A leisurely stroll around Hastings started our day, followed by a trip to Havelock North and Clifton. It was back to Te Mata peak for some fine views (via an ice-cream stop for the kids and a sticky date pudding stop for mum and dad) and then off to Napier. As an aside, the following exchange at the sticky date venue seemed a little odd:
'Could we stop for something to eat.'
'We only do cake right now.'
'No problem.' (It is 3 o'clock - beggars can't be choosers.) 'Do you do espresso?'
'What sort do you want, latte, cappuccino?'
Once in Napier we were advised to check out the best Thai restaurant in New Zealand, Chef's Thai. It certainly lived up to its reputation. We are not sure if we have had better Thai food anywhere, including Thailand.
Sorry for the brief blog - the migraine Gav has had all day prevented his usual wit from flowing.
