The place we had our hopes pinned on fell through. The new place that we have made an offer on is expensive, but in a safe neighborhood with good transport links. Transport is really difficult to sort out here, because just a few blocks from your station you may have high prices and high crime, or high low, low high, and as you get farther out you have greater and greater need of a car, which really isn't an option for us.

We'll be working on getting into this place by Saturday, but that means we will have been in a hotel for 3 weeks at a massive, massive cost. We were never expecting it to jump so dramatically in length of time to find suitable accommodations nor in cost of that length of time.

OMG £300 per week, please tell me that British English for £300 per month. No, I know that is how it is in grand old London. NY & SF are the same way - in NY you wouldn't even have a window - aka fire trap. However, I can imagine how stressful it has been to find a place and then realize you are going to have to take that kind of hit each month.

On a better note, It is so great that Naomi has a job that is filled with good people, that will make all the difference. That and a 35 hour work week, rock on!

I hope you both get a chance to settle down and recoup from everything. I can't wait to here how Mr. B likes his classes.

Good Luck!!!!
