On Saturday four of us and Pepo climbed into a tiny cab for the half hour drive to Anomabo beach for a relaxing day by the ocean. The drive there was crazy with Pepo moving around every few minutes because he was so hot. He drools like crazy so us suckers in the back seat were soaked with slobber by the time we arrived. The beach was beautiful and went for miles and miles, the sad thing was that we were limited to where we could walk because of the piles of garbage around the resort. A few of the girls had been dreaming of having a burger all week (we mostly eat vegetarian) so we ordered lunch and ate on the beach. I ordered snapper and it came with it's fins, eyes, teeth and bones. It was very good once I could get over looking at it!
On Sunday Dani and I explored the Elmina market which is an hour round trip from the house. We walked through the fish market and probably saw over a hundred little fishing boats. The stalls sold lobster, shrimp and a bunch of other fish that I couldn't name. The smell was overwhelming so I was happy to leave. It was a long walk back and we were really hot so we decided to pay the 4 cedis (about 3 dollars) to use the Elmina Beach Resort pool. The resort is a two minute walk from the house. Unfortunately for us, the pool water was warm so we read by the pool in the shade like two old ladies!
This week I'm busy planning the Global Mama of the Year event. These women work so hard, they deserve a little party so I'm trying to find a company to sponsor the event (which costs $1000). If anyone has a company in mind let me know!
That's it for now, hope everyone is doing well?
