A short but very scenic flight along the coast brings us to our next stop, Nha Trang.
Billed as Vietnam's only real seaside resort it lives up to this. The town is right on the beach and has the usual range of water sports etc. They were recently blessed by having the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in town and are only just getting over it judging by the number of signs still up.
There are some hot springs and mud baths nearby, only a few kilometers out of town. We cycled there but it is pretty badly signposted so we got lost and cycled a few kms extra. After the bridge it's first left not straight on!
The hot springs are as described, HOT! They also have mud baths which are thankfully cool but a cold pool would have done very nicely
We also decided to get back into the diving and went for a couple of dives at Mun Island where we saw all sorts of funky fish, (parrot, frog, trumpet, clown, lion) and some other interesting sea life (a nice big clam too) pointed out by our dive master. It was lucky he was there as we would have missed half of it as the fish really are excellent at camouflage.
This place is really about the beach. And the longest cable car in the world over a sea, it connects the mainland to Vinpearl Island which is some sort of resort/funpark/shopping complex...
