Our first vacation stop on our New England trip was not actually in New England... We have previously visited both Racoon Caverns and the Lost Sea near Chattanooga, but they both pale in comparison to Luray Caverns in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. First of all, the drive there is just beautiful. That part of Virginia is really one of the prettiest places we have ever seen! The caverns themselves are really impressive, especially Dream Lake and the Stalacpipe Organ. One interesting bit of trivia - John's grandparents actually honeymooned at Luray back in the 1940s!
