our trip from cambodia to vietnam was a long one, about 9 hours on the bus.  first we went back through phnom phen and then we crossed the border before heading to ho chi minh city (saigon).  hcmc was very busy as to be expected.  the moto bike traffic was unreal.  there are some very talented moto bike drivers that can carry anything from 5 people to cargo the size and weight you wouldn't believe. 

the food was good and we purchased some very cheap north farce waist packs which have since failed us (u get what u pay for). 

the main event for us in hcmc was the war memorial museum.  this was every bit as powerful as the cambodian museums and killing fields.  it is a very large museum with different facts, photos and items from the war.  there were lots of very disturbing photos along with information about the damage done by agent orange.  countless tragedies that had us feeling numb.  more incomprehensible violence.  another country that has suffered and been used as a pawn by so called super powers.

the next day after our sobering museum experience we began our journey north.  hcmc is in the south of vietnam and so we bought an open bus ticket that let us get off at several stops along the way and spend time.  our first stop would be dalat...
