on our way to southeast asia, we stopped off in hawaii.  it's on the way right??? 

we spent 1 week in kauai, where we camped on many beaches and backpacked the na pali coast.  11 miles of rugged coastline and spectacular views.  it ended at a sublime beach and waterfall.  a must do for anyone who likes to backpack!!

after kauai, we spent 1 week on the big island.  what a diverse island.  dessert, beaches, rainforest, 13,000 foot volcanoes, active lava flows...we covered the entire island despite having some heavy rains.  going to sleep with humpback song was also a treat.

maui greeted us with sunshine.  we drove around the entire island, and up the entire island (to the volcano), spent a few days at the beach, whale watched along roadsides and also on a private tour, and spent many days relaxing in our friends jane and bart's home. 

hawaii treated us very well.  did it prepare us for the tropics?  tune in to the next edition for the answer...

Green with Envy
Hey there guys...What a trip so far. Authentic Thai food, (I'm jealous) and every day is a tuesday! We'll look forward to the entries. Love ya, Julie
