A young boy reads an an ancient book and comes across a word he is not familiar with.
"Father what is a gun?"
"It's a tool that was used a very long time ago. It fires a bullet which is a little metal ball like object."
"Why don't we have any?"
"We don't have any guns because they are a creation of humanity that nearly destroyed us. Before guns people fought with clubs and stones. Then swords, axes, and bows and arrows. Guns were created and over time they got bigger. Some of these guns were called atomic bombs and they were scattered all over the planet,
"Father why did people fight?"
Well son it depended
"Where did all the atomic bombs go?"
"People finally realized they were so dangerous they should not exist and used all that were on Earth to fuel space craft to explore space"
-A father to his son on the Neptune moon Triton in the year 3321
Atomic energy should be used as fuel not bombs. Say yes to energy for exploration not destruction.
After completing the weeks work I find a sense of energy I felt I would not have. The noise level in my kindy class has become very intense. Sometimes I remember a technique I learned while studying. You stand quietly and wait for the students to clue in that you are waiting and in theory they should quiet down.
(After a few days)
Wednesday June 17
Well in my class the intensity increases
I have been planning our summer vacation with Matty. We'll be heading to Jeju-do. A small island that is part of Korea. I will be going there on the July 4th weekend too to watch a surfing contest and get out on the water when possible. We will also be going to a thing called Mud Fest in July too. It's gonna be a great month.
I can't wait to finish my contract and move on. Not so much because I am not happy, but more so because my hunger to see another culture is still very strong. In my parent interviews one of the moms of a student wanted me to commit to 2 more years with her son. This made me feel good and to be honest I considered it...then my heart spoke and it will be time to move on in February, as tempting as staying is.
Thanks for Reading

Me Working on My Chi.
. This is a technique that works with my older students but not the young ones. The break in this entry was warranted as a good buddy Matty Wyse came up from Seoul to hang out in Uijeongbu for the weekend. Matty gave me some great ideas to help in the classroom and I have been stoked on being at work. That night we had some drinks. I bowed out early as I was pretty tired and I was going hiking the next morning with Julia and her new coworker named Sara. I was up at 10am and met the ladies in Seoul around 1130am. We hiked a cool mountain that was not to difficult. Later in the evening a handful of us went to a place in Seoul called Heywa. A fairly trendy place with lots to see we toured around and had a few drinks and then some of us headed home on the subway. I have been planning our summer vacation with Matty.
