The boy asks god why he can't win every game of poker he plays. God says "boy don't bother me with your petty squabbles I have better things to do".

The boy then asks the Devil why he can't win every game of poker he plays and the Devil replies "come here little one and let me nibble on your brain and eat you into something nice".

Another week has flown by. Halloween was great. I put together a make shift Medusa. Couldn't find much for my body but a swim cap and pipe cleaners made an interesting head of snakes. The weekend prior to the 31st I went to a Halloween party with Abdel, Milton, Chris as well as Bobby and Gretchen. The boys went as ninjas, Bobby and Gretchen as punks, and I as a medusa Me and my 4:30 class.
Me and my 4:30 class.
. The three ninjas and I skated to the party through the city streets drawing attention and shouts from many Koreans. The party was fun. It was at Black Chris's house. There was a mix of people from the UK, USA, CAN, and South Africa. I ended up heading home with friends from work just after midnight leaving shouts of good bye "Old Man" from the ninjas. The ninjas went into Seoul and had a night that I think I'll leave out of this write.  At a decade younger than me the three ninjas are able to party all night over the weekend and still be able to work Monday. I on the other hand was wiped out from Friday night's poker (with me winning), Tom's, and an Asshole game drinking at tables outside the 7/11 'till 5 am. I headed home wiped out and in need of sleep. A couple I work with, Bobby and Gretchen, were on there way to the DMZ tour at 6am Saturday and the boys were still going strong, aside from White Chris lying flat on the street after falling off his skateboard.

Halloween day was great. The night prior all the staff of Canada International School put together a haunted house and decorated the gym. The next day was all games and tours through the haunted house. I was running the musical chairs for the morning and then worked the haunted house in the afternoon. Well, my first group of kids for musical chairs were the youngest at 4-5 years old. There were lots of princesses, a knight, a soldier armed with a toy hand gun, and some power rangers One wall of the gym.
One wall of the gym.
. One girl started to cry as she lost in the final two of the game. I frantically scrambled to find Patricia, her regular teacher, to help with the tears.

The haunted house brought more tears and screams. Some kids were afraid to even be in the gym with scary music playing. I ran through the halls of the house, which we made of black fabric and garbage bags, scaring the kids. I really enjoyed standing still in a pose not moving and as the kids came close to me they would stop, look, and walk by slowly only to be scared with a sudden growl and lunge. Good fun.  After 3pm we had our older age kids come through the house. Older kids, but some were still scared. I even heard an "I have a gun" as one kid walked through...no real threats here thank god. The "old lady" (Steve teacher), Chrissy and I had to do an impromptu fixing of the house as a group of screaming girls stampeded through the walls of our evil creation. In the end it was a fun but tiring day. I think the kids had fun. The next day many came up to me and said "Kevin teacher green hair".

Well we capped off the night with beers at the Terrace, a local pub a step and a stumble from our apt's. As we swilled pitchers and reflected on our day Steve said lets go sing. So six of us were off to Noribong (Korean Karaoke) Me and Dolphin Class
Me and Dolphin Class
. We grabbed some beers and snuck them into one of the many rooms designed to let you sing your heart out. I belted out tunes from the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and AC/DC as well as the many others sung by my friends. It was great fun! Near the end of the night Steve and I headed to the Soul Bar to meet the Korean bartender that I have a crush on. Steve got waylaid by a call from his Korean girl friend and was off, so I went on a solo only to find out that she does not work there anymore as told by another bartender without me even saying anything. Am I that obvious???? Anyways the consolation was "but there is a new girl". Ahhh, I downed my jack and coke and headed home. The next day at school I think Steve looked as bad as I felt and I felt as bad as he looked.  In the end we made it through the day.

Tonight they were gunning to put me out. I was kicking ass. Got my first four of a kind with four aces and took out four other players. In the end it was my inability to see what the possibilities that my opponent might have that cost me the game. For what it's worth it is good that Abbey won his first game and late enough so that Tom's was closed thus saving him from the traditional "buy rounds for the boys after winning the pot".

Tomorrow we go to the travel agent to see about Taiwan. I must now finish the left over pitcher, perks from hosting.
