Today was a great day. I had six classes of gym today before my ESL in the afternoon. Yep 12 kindergarteners and I running around like crazy people in the school gym. I started each class with a little guessing game. I held out a closed fist to each class so conveniently lined up on the green line in the gym. "What do you think I have in my fist I said?" They  pondered and some were brave enough to take guesses. " A watch, a coin, and eraser" were some of the guesses. Nope. I opened my hand and showed the secret. A whistle. Some were able to put it in a context but none knew the actual name of my classroom management tool. I blew it once and they  snapped to attention. I explained that when you hear the whistle you stop and don't talk. I has been working very well...for now...until I have to come up with another way to manage the classes. You always need to be one step ahead of the kids to keep em on their feet so to speak. Next step maybe a bull horn :). The classes went well and after we ran around in circles as we stretched I drifted to my days as an athlete and coach. I am very excited that a wrestler from BC has qualified Canada for the Olympics in the 84 kilo weight class after an 8th place finish at the world championships. Way to go Travis Cross!!!

After work I was to go to the Tuna Bar with Jill, a friend from school. I had been salivating about this for the latter part of the day. However Jill is sick and our dinner is postponed. Still stoked on tuna I headed out for a solo. I love this place and if it was not so pricey at 15,000 WON (mind you thats all you can eat) I'd be there every night. I ate and ate as I read the book "House Inside the Waves" about a guy from Ottawa that moves with his wife and two daughters to Australia so his wife can do a teacher exchange and he be a househusband. It has been a good read and I am ripping through it. Next book: "1984".

I watched in awe as the tuna master gracefully sliced piece after piece of tuna and swordfish for me and an almost full establishment. I ate and ate. Very tasty and healthy too! Looks like I might get a skateboard. A long board specifically. A few guys in my building have em and after carving around the neighborhood after chicken and beer (which gave me terrible gut rot the next day) I have reinvented my love of skateboarding that I once had as a teenager. Speaking of old loves, my friend Megan and I have just finished the first modern season of  "Dr. Who". A show I used to love in the Eighties as a kid.

Tuna with Jill on Thursday and then "Heros" at Megan's. She downloads it Tuesday after all you in North America have seen it on Monday night. Chrissy is heading to Japan to get her visa this week. I have her class for two days. A tough group but lovable all the same. As I teach her class I will surely be wondering if I could have fit in her suit case for another adventure in Japan, what a fun place.

Thanks for reading. I will now read a blog on travel pod from the nick "Scottwoz".  His tales of adventure in New Zealand and Australia have got me pumped for the next big adventure...off course once the loans are paid off.

Hey K,
I got a kick outta your skating comments.
Here's an old school pic for ya, it's the cover of TW skateboarding with Jason Lee on the cover (from My Name Is Earl). ;-)
