Fortunately for once in my life I chose not to procrastinate and had started packing a few days in advance, so that morning all I had to do was pack up those things that you need until the last possible moment. Btw do you know how stressful it is to pack for three months? Deciding what was appropriate for the climate, what type of clothing I should bring, what medications I may need and not to mention figuring out what books and magazines I would need for service and the meetings for the next three months? I swear that Jehovah´s Witnesses need more luggage then your typical person, I mean we have all those meeting and service clothes to bring and not to mention all those books. Kandice and I both brought one suitcase each full of clothes and a joint one full of just theocratic books and magazines, vitamins and a few select food items.
So we eat our breakfast, got ready and loaded the car (which amazingly fit all 3 suitcases plus carry on luggage and four people...go Toyota Camry) and were off to do a few last minute things, basically consisting of going to the bank and getting American funds and saying goodbye to my Uncle, Aunt and Cousin. Were I drank my last cup of decent tea for a while.
From there we headed to the PAC Border Crossing and waited to cross into Washington.
