Before leaving Palmyra I stopped by the Temple and took some photos of the Temple and the view of the Sacred Grove from the Temple. Even tho' it was sprinkling the Temple is beautiful and its setting is spectacular. I'm grateful that I was able to attend a session the other night too.

The scenery along Seneca Lake made it very clear why I've heard of this area and how the rich and famous have liked it for years. As I entered Elmira, NY a thought came to mind that someone famous had something to do with this place, so I got out the AAA book and read that Mark Twain is buried here. I took :30 and found the cemetery and the grave. I got a kick out of the fact that someone had actually left two cigars at his headstone. Interestingly, I wasn't the only strange person to visit the grave.

I took back roads, scenic routes, as I drove through PA. I got to Valley Forge just before it closed, but was able to see and photograph everything I wanted to before heading for Philadelphia. I made a reservation at a Red Roof Inn in east Philadelphia and managed to take the wrong exit that took me over to Delaware. Instead of going back to PA I drove up the Delaware Turnpike to a bridge that took me right over to my motel. Boy, was I disappointed in the accommodations! However, I was able to get a good night's sleep.
