Leaving paradise
Entry 5 of 5 | show all | print this entry |
What a sad sad day. We have to get up early, I don't feel like having breakfast and chew on a dry piece of toast forever. We don't't want to leave...
The depressing procession of guests who have to leave, walking across the island to the jetty (ususally guided by Freddy, Patrick and Gov), resembles me of prisoners on their way to the electrical chair. Now it seems to be our turn. A short goodbye, a quick speedboat trip and a last chat with Rahel and Patrick at the Airport.
Arrival at six in the evening in Zurich. It feels like autumn... and of course it rains.
A bad surprise is waiting for us at home: Central Switzerland is struggeling with the worst floods since 100 years, nearly everything is under water, trains do not run on schedule (...if that happens in Switzerland, the damage has to be really big ;-) ), Lucerne is closed for traffic because the lake and the river are flooding the area...
Back in my office, still dreaming of the Maldives, we will go back for sure. Ok for now, we have to remove the water out from our basement and save our stuff from the flood.
Next trip planning for november is in progress. It feels like Southern India... See you there.
