Whilst in Medellin we met up with one of Liam's Uni friends who works for a charity that helps indigenous people to sell their products in a sustainable way. She arranged for us to go into the mountains in Coconuco to visit one of her projects ( milk farming). This involved a very early start and a drive on a bumpy jeep to the top of a mountain, with a guide who spoke no English.

It was a really interesting visit, we learnt about how local farmers used to farm and how they are now checking and recording the quality of the milk produced for sale in a market. We wandered through the fields, met some cows, saw milk being analysed and had breakfast with a local family. Imran for the record we had home made beef jerky, rice, scrambled egg and tomato in a wooden kitchen with hens pecking around our feet!

On our way back to Popayan, we headed to some thermal spring pools which also included a water slide into a hot spring pool. Liam enjoyed this a lot, see video. Fun times!

Popayan and Coconuco get a thumbs up.

Next Stop Cali and then the amazon!!!
