we spent most of our day exploring the city by foot. Took a walk through the "old city" which is full of old shops and pink buildings. we happened upon an alley way with shop after shop selling beautiful, colorful material for sari's and so many people buying them! It was magical and interesting to see all the different colors, sequins and designs.
we tried vegetable pakora off the street corner (served on a piece of newspaper)...was really tasty minus the dude standing 2 ft in front of us staring us down.
Jaipur is a crazy busy city with EVERY kind of transportation on the roads: rickshaw (motor and bike), cars, buses, trucks, bicycles, horses. camels, and even elephants. As well as people walking and crossing the street too. Busy all the time...we were quite overwhelmed.
Did a bit of silver shopping and got some nice pieces. And had an excellent meal of punjabi thali...a taste of all different things.
Watched movies and slept well before catching an early bus to Agra.
Got to the bus station and found out we had just missed a bus so we had to wait an hour and a hlaf until the next one traffic
traffic
. Had a interesting time at the bus station with people everywhere and trying to figure out where to catch our bus and whether we wanted to splurge the extra dollor to take the "deluxe AC" bus...we decided it might be more comfortable then the local bus ...but not so. We spent 7 hours bumping on a very ghetto bus that had no AC and crooked broken seats. There were no shocks and we were lucky enough to have seats right over the back wheels so we went flying a few times. The swerving was crazy especially since the entire road here was under construction and usually only 1 lane. Then we had to do a mega detour because of a motorbike accident. We don't think that the guy made it through cause he was lying on the road and no one was moving him. He was probably dead on impact. It was scary to see and to see the chaos of all the people and traffic around the scene.
Made it to Agra exhuasted and headachy  but here!
