Panorama Hotel

We arrived in the evening to a very nice hotel (Panorama)..after a long bus ride which was a bit scarier then the first. Lots of hills and close calls, plus sick people on the bus. But we made it safe and sound and enjoyed a nice meal atop our rooftop restaurant watching all the fireworks go off and listening to the music being played out both sides of our hotel for a wedding.
The next morning we were out to explore this new city. We explored the city palace, and the 5 star hotels. There is a lot of them here, including the beatutiful lake palace in the middle of the lake. (where they filmed Ocotpussy, James Bond) We spent the whole day just walking around and seeing as much as we could. We then finished the day by watching some traditional dancers. One lady balanced 10 pots on her head, showing how the ladies in the desert make good use of their trek to the watering hole.
It is a pretty magical place..the sunset was gorgeous and we got our picture taken with 11 family members!! it was hilarious...we snapped one too so we will post it when we can! WE really chilled out and enjoyed our time here.
this stop has been about trying to organize our next week or so, trying to figure out routes etc monica across the river from the city

. we have so much we want to see and time is going by so fast.
Forgot to write about the fighter planes over the desert near Jaisalmer. While we were camel trekking near the Pakistan border we saw some and again on our bus ride to Jodphur. there was an air force training base in the area. it was exciting to see.
Also forgot to write about Monica talking in her sleep one of the first nights we were in India. She said "No opportunity wasted. Time to turn over a new leaf. Dot these leafy greens look scrumptious/delicious" HAHA thanks to Anita for remembering that!
