Got back from our trek and showered and went straight to the Sexy Tractor...a foreign owned bar. We parked it there from about 7pm to 1am before moving on to Bar Street for some vodka and dancing. Anita enjoyed a "meat pulp pizza" as her after bar snack! so good.
We had a great night chatting and drinking and really bonding as a group! HA! we were joined by Aussie Jeff who is stuck on another tour with the "Geriatrics" (as he calls them - 4 old retirees). We will borrow photos from Helen and Fran to post here....
We had stopped in Lijang for a night before our trek and LOVED it. The old city here is gorgeous and we were able to see a performance by the traditional Nexi orchestra. It was a SUPER show where we learnt a lot. loved the old man and lady - she played a neat mouth instrument that would sound WICKED with a bass beat behind it for dancing. also walked through the Dragon Lake park in the rain and at night. lights were gorgeous.
Lijang old city is a place to get lost in (we did) and it is a little like Venice in that way - water all through it and old shops and cafes make it magical.
the food here was also good - the Baba bread is a must try.
