As a bonus we arrived into San Fran via the golden gate bridge – we weren’t expecting that! Another thing we werent expecting was our hotel to be so nice – another great surprise! Hotels in SF are so expensive and so I’d chosen what looked the best in our budget
After lunch in a very cool café (it’s full of cool cafes here you never struggle to find one) we hopped on board the open top bus tour and saw all the various attractions and went over and back the bridge again - 3 times in one day! They have a massive chinese population here so for dinner we ventured to china town and had a great meal. I had a cocktail with a chinese spirit in it which I’d never heard of and it made my head go numb. Then I drank my beer through a straw and my legs went numb. I would love to say now that I went straight to bed and it was a happy ending, but no, we ended up walking for miles and miles to get home. Arnaud has successfully navigated us all through every city we’ve been to so I didn’t really question our route home…. However, after walking for about an hour and a half I was beginning to lose the plot, especially since every street here is a MASSIVE hill (another thing it has in common with gardner street!). It’s incredible how steep they are and after pushing the pram up and down mountains for over an hour I could have killed Arnaud when we turned up at China town again!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaarghh! Eventually we made it home 3 hours after leaving the restaurant and I don’t think we could have been more tired or more happy to get home. Mum, your flip flops woulda been in tatters xxx
