Day 6 - afternoon
Temperature: 33 Celsius
Weather: blue sky, white puffy clouds, hot
It was 1:00 pm when we arrived back at the hotel from our morning's excursion to the floating markets.
As much as I would have "loved" to stay here at the Sheraton just a little bit longer, to soak in the sun’s rays while sitting on the hotel’s patio terrace along the river with one of those exotic cocktail drinks in hand, to relax and simply do nothing, well! Doesn't all of this sound good!
Well, as tempting as all of this was, I was even more tempted to get the show going and head out to our “joining tour hotel”! As Michel put it, I was more curious than anything else to see the place! And he was right!
Our suitcases were taken out of storage, name of hotel and address given to the concierge and within minutes, we were sitting inside a small yellow taxi at the front of the Sheraton along with a bellboy giving instructions in Thai to a young cab driver of our desired destination. By nodding his head, sure the cab driver replied, he knew exactly where we wanted to go to! Still, he didn’t look too much convincing to me! Was he there only for the money!
As it turned out, the Centra Central Station Hotel was a mere eight minute drive from the Sheraton but the cab driver took twice as much time to arrive due to the fact that he just couldn’t find the place. His excuse was that it was a brand new hotel having been open just a little bit more than six months.
We could have walked to go there from what the Sheraton’s concierge told us but somehow, I just couldn’t picture myself with suitcases in hand walking along these unknown streets and traffic!
Well, you’ll be happy to know that the place was eventually found, much to my relief! I was at a point where it was just a matter of minutes for me to tell the cab driver to turn around and drive us back to the Sheraton Hotel because he was simply %@X2$%@!. Monique :-)
